We're really proud to world premiere this new production by our friend Matoma as he teams up with his norwegian colleague Nelsaan on a remix of John Mayer's cover of Tom Petty's Free Falling.
The story on how this remix came about is quite interesting. I'm told that Matoma and Nelsaan finished a late night gig not long ago. And afterwards they started pondering on giving a norwegian summer feel to the original track and between one Captain Morgan or two under the rising sun, this song was born. In fact, they suggest this rendition is best enjoyed by replicating that sunrise moment that gave birth to this song.
The song starts with flutes and some background crowd subtly up roaring before fading out. The song is perfectly paced to enjoy the sun's rays on every side before it turns to even things out -- for as sun-soaked this track is it is never ever sun-burnt.
If you like what you hear, be sure to check Matoma's previous chart-topping works we featured recently before it exploded:
- A-ha - The Sun Always Shines On TV
- Snoop Dogg & Leona Lewis - Gangsta Bleedin' Love
- Axwell - I Found U
- The Notorious B.I.G - Old Thing Back
Without further ado, here it is.
